In recent years, Starbucks has seen a growing number of customers using online apps (such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.) and drive-thrus. This is now leading to an increase in demand for various drinks made faster, hence putting baristas in somewhat of a bind. To remedy the issue, Starbucks plans to invest in better equipment for preparing these beverages, along with using automation. That, combined with the company's objective to reduce costs, should pave the way for more Starbucks locations outside of North America to grow and succeed.
