President Donald Trump said he wants to meet the whistleblower who filed a complaint regarding his telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, which is now the center of an impeachment inquiry. Trump also attacked the person who provided information to the whistleblower, accused House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) of “fraud and treason,” and warned of “big consequences.” The President expressed his condemnations against his accusers and Rep. Schiff in a series of tweets on Sunday, Trump wrote, “Like every American, I deserve to meet my accuser, especially when this accuser, the so-called ‘Whistleblower,’ represented a perfect conversation with a foreign leader in a totally inaccurate and fraudulent way. Then Schiff made up what I actually said by lying to Congress.” He continued, “His lies were made in perhaps the most blatant and sinister manner ever seen in the great Chamber. He wrote down and read terrible things, then said it was from the mouth of the President of the United States. I want Schiff questioned at the highest level for Fraud & Treason.....” “In addition, I want to meet not only my accuser, who presented SECOND & THIRD HAND INFORMATION, but also the person who illegally gave this information, which was largely incorrect, to the “Whistleblower.” Was this person SPYING on the U.S. President? Big Consequences!”

Trump allegedly solicited a foreign leaded to interfere in the 2020 election

On Wednesday, the White House released a transcript of Trump’s telephone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whom he requested to investigate unsubstantiated allegations of corruption against former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. The Director of National Intelligence (DNI) subsequently released the whistleblower complaint to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees. In the complaint, the whistleblower claimed that Trump is “using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 elections.” The President allegedly “sought to pressure the Ukrainian leader to take actions to help” in his reelection in 2020. White House officials tried to restrict access to records of the phone call especially the “word-for-word” transcript of the conversation.

 DNI says the “whistleblower acted in good faith”

On Friday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee and the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, demanded the release of the word-for-word transcript of Trump’s call with Zelensky.
