In a recent TikTok video addressing her plea, Paul remarked, “I don’t owe anyone an explanation besides the people involved. The court is officially over until next year. They’ll just check in and see how I’m doing—if I’m still doing better.”

“As much as I wish that night had gone differently, I felt like hitting rock bottom actually helped me in some ways. It made me seek help that I wasn’t getting,” she added.

Paul’s legal troubles began on February 17 when she was arrested and charged by Herriman police in Salt Lake County with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury, and criminal mischief.

A complaint filed in March alleged that Paul had thrown various objects, including a phone, a wooden play set, and “heavy metal chairs” at her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, during a heated argument.

Tragically, one of these chairs struck one of her children who was sitting next to Mortensen on the couch at the time.

Video evidence presented during the case showed Paul physically assaulting Mortensen, including kicking, choking, and striking him multiple times, even using a metal barstool as a weapon.
