One week after the accident claimed the lives of Tree and five others, his family announced plans to establish a charitable foundation that reflects the artist's lifelong passion for creativity and helping aspiring musicians.

In an emotional post shared on Instagram, Tree's family revealed that the foundation was outlined in the singer's will before his death on June 14.

"Oliver is now back in California where he can finally rest," the family wrote. "His legacy will live on through his foundation/endowment named 'Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant for Baby Geniuses,' coming soon."

They added that bringing the organization to life was Tree's final request.

"We will make sure his wish comes to fruition so that more joy, love and art can be spread into the world. That was his final wish."

Family Plans to Create Final Wish Vision

According to the family's statement, the foundation will provide opportunities for emerging artists, reflecting Tree's belief that creative people often need practical support rather than traditional educational funding.

His loved ones also thanked fans worldwide for the overwhelming outpouring of condolences, artwork, videos, and tributes that have helped them cope with the devastating loss.

"Oliver would be so proud of every one of his supporters, friends and family," the family wrote. "Peace be with Oliver."

The announcement also confirmed that Tree's body has been returned to California, where funeral arrangements are being handled privately.

Oliver Tree Explained Final Wish Before His Death

Just two months before the fatal helicopter crash, Tree spoke candidly about his estate during an appearance on The Zach Sang Show.

The singer explained that he had deliberately structured his will so that none of his wealth would be inherited by family members.

"I don't believe that any of the wealth, or the things that get made from it, is mine," Tree said during the interview.

He even stated that if he had a wife or children, they would not inherit his fortune. Instead, he wanted the proceeds from his music catalog to fund artistic projects through a foundation managed by an independent committee.

Tree envisioned grants that would allow artists to hire musicians, filmmakers, designers, engineers, and other creative professionals to physically produce new works of art.
