Near the Midway, dozens of people were seen running in panic, with some desperately looking for their children amidst the confusion. Many people hid behind rides or in any available cover. This traumatic experience left a lasting impact on those who were present, and some fair employees have expressed concerns about returning to work, citing their fears for their safety. News of the shooting reverberated through the community, as local leaders, including Dallas City Council member Adam Bazaldua, weighed in on the situation. Bazaldua, whose district includes Fair Park, said in a post on X that he’d been briefed on the situation by City Manager T.C. Broadnax.
