AT&T Settlement Could Pay Customers Up to $7,500 After Massive Data Breaches

Two Data Breaches Impacting Millions
The first breach, announced in March 2024, compromised the personal information of 73 million AT&T account holders. Data such as birth dates and Social Security numbers surfaced on the dark web. The second breach, disclosed in July 2024, involved call and text records for “nearly all” AT&T cellular customers. According to CBS News, the lawsuits over both incidents were consolidated into two nationwide class-action cases. The $177 million settlement is divided into two funds:- $149 million for the first breach class
- $28 million for the second breach class
- Up to $5,000 for the March 2024 breach (losses from 2019 onward)
- Up to $2,500 for the July 2024 breach (losses on or after April 14, 2024)
- Up to $7,500 if impacted by both breaches
How to File a Claim
Notices are being sent to eligible customers via email from [email protected]. The settlement administrator, Kroll Settlement Administration, also operates a dedicated hotline at (833) 890-4930. Claims must be submitted online or postmarked by November 18, 2025. Filing a claim waives the right to sue AT&T separately. Even if the court approves the settlement in December, payments may be delayed due to appeals or processing time. “It also takes time for all of the claim forms to be processed. Please be patient,” the settlement site advises.
