In a night of devastating weather, lethal tornadoes ripped through Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas. The storms left a trail of destruction. A at least 11 people lost their lives.

The violent storms, which began on Saturday night and continued into Sunday morning, injured dozens more and wreaked havoc on numerous communities across these states.

As the affected communities begin to assess the damage and recover from these devastating storms, emergency services rescue operations continue their efforts to locate survivors and provide aid to those impacted.

Lethal Tornadoes Hit 

According to officials, a staggering 25 tornadoes were reported across the affected regions. The brunt of the storm was felt in Texas, where the Cooke County Sheriff's Office confirmed the deaths of seven individuals, including two young children aged 2 and 5.

 These fatalities occurred in Cooke County, north of Dallas, where the storm inflicted severe damage on communities and infrastructure.

Texas Tornadoes: Tragic Losses and Extensive Damage

In Texas, the storm's fury was particularly evident in Valley View, a community located about 60 miles northwest of Dallas.

 Sheriff Ray Sappington reported that the tornado also tore through a roadside travel center before ravaging a nearby manufactured home community. Emergency responders were engaged in extensive search and rescue operations amid the "major damage" in this area.

"The storm has caused significant damage to numerous homes and businesses, including the Gateway AP Travel Center, which received major damage," stated the Cooke County Sheriff's Office. 

Reports indicate that between 60 to 80 people were injured at the travel center alone. Sheriff Sappington urged residents to stay clear of the damaged zones to facilitate emergency response efforts, warning of hazards such as downed power lines and gas leaks.

Additionally, a landslide caused by the heavy rains closed both directions of Highway 340 in Bella Vista, Texas, after the ground beneath the road was washed out, severely compromising its surface.

Arkansas: Deadly Tornadoes and Destruction

Arkansas also faced the wrath of the storms, with at least two people killed when a possible tornado struck early Sunday morning.
