Jelly Roll arrived in the relationship with two children, Bailee and Noah, from previous partners. Bunnie Xo wrote extensively about the difficulty of navigating the relationship with Noah’s mother. The history between the former couple was marked by toxicity, and the co-parenting situation was complicated by the fact that the mother was pregnant with Noah shortly before Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll committed to each other.

The couple moved quickly, with Jelly Roll proposing not long after they met. Bunnie Xo admitted that the speed of the engagement made her feel scared, yet she also thrived on the spontaneity of it all. She loved the passion and the excitement of their whirlwind romance.
The morning after their private Las Vegas wedding, she admittedly had doubts, questioning if they had made a mistake. When she voiced these concerns, Jelly Roll reassured her by explaining that he would not have committed to the marriage if he did not intend to see it through. He saw the long game, even when she felt uncertain about the permanence of their union.
Overcoming a Ten Month Infidelity
Perhaps the most harrowing part of the memoir details a ten month affair that Jelly Roll engaged in during their marriage. This incident occurred after a period where Bunnie Xo had briefly left Nashville to return to Las Vegas. Upon their attempted reunion, she noticed something was wrong.
She eventually discovered messages on his phone that revealed he had been talking to an ex-girlfriend behind her back. The betrayal went beyond the physical act of cheating; she was hurt because he had allegedly helped this person set up a home to care for his daughter, Bailee. Bunnie Xo wrote that while she eventually chose to forgive him, it took years for her to feel secure again, as the incident left her feeling disposable.
Despite these revelations, the memoir ends on a hopeful note regarding their desire to grow their family through IVF, proving that the story they told the public was always far more layered than anyone on the outside could have imagined.
